Human rights include the right of naions to development, economic autonomy, and security of their ciizens. Decisions about health are related to how we see ourselves as individuals and socieies raises quesions about life and meaning, quesions of illness, dependence and mortality, quesions about how we determine which values will take precedence. Our society has become more diverse and pluralisic we cannot assume shared values or a common story what is good for one person may not be of beneit to another. Science and biotechnology are progressing at a rapid rate ex. mapping of the human genome has opened up whole new areas of scieniic knowledge raise quesions of ethics and rights and the allocaion of health dollars that are unparalleled.
