Is an individual"s or family"s economic and social position in relation to others, based on income, education, and occupation. Ses is often considered when examing individual"s health. Privilege individuals are less likely to experience more preventable diseases compared to less preventable diseases in the u. s. but not in canada. Social selection believes that individuals with poor health in the first place will have a lower education and income. Social selection believes that it is not the lower education and income that causes poor health because those with poor health are unable to achieve higher education and income.
