Key moments in the health care system: 1961: saskatchewan medical care insurance bill, 1968: national medicare introduces with the medical care act, government were still allowed to ask patients for money, (cid:883)96(cid:884): saskatchewan(cid:495)s doctors(cid:495) strike. Levels of healthcare: primary: first contact with the hc system, cheaper, family doctor, secondary: consultative, short-term, disease-oriented for assisting the primary care provider, getting referred by your doctor, tertiary: highly specialized services, expensive, chemotherapy.
