The fourth lecture was something i was able to understand a bit more clearly with past knowledge because i took a computer science course in high school. Today"s lecture covered the computer aspect of healthcare such as the history behind internet and technology and steps used to store and receive data. Professor el morr discussed acronyms such as lan and vpn and how they connect to the internet and how we access health care data. The one thing i didn"t understand was the diagrams of the routers and how they all connect with each other. It didn"t make sense to me because i wasn"t able to understand the reasoning as to why the diagram was shown and how information can be passed through those chains. After making an effort to reread my notes, i was able to understand that all these terms and technological gadgets all connect with each other on how we can easily access medical information today.
