HLST 2040 Lecture Notes - Lecture 11: Cancer Care Ontario, Remote Viewing
Document Summary
In today"s" session, we learned about medical imaging informatics. For me, this class was probably the most interesting out of all the other classes. We also had a guest speaker come in. I learned many things about the cco (cancer care. The most interesting topics i learned about during this session were pacs and the transition to filmless radiology. The transition to filmless radiology overtime required expensive costs initially. In the digital world, ct ultrasound and mri scans had as an upgrade in radiology rooms. Because of the transition, there was computer-based image archiving. That included faster processors, higher capacity disk drives, better resolution systems and much more. The other thing i found interesting that we learned about was pacs. Mini-pacs are more limited and the processes images in one or two approaches.
