Three levels of government: federal, provincial, urban government. Healthiness is attached to the entire population not the individual when it comes to public health. Definition of policy: policy is a subset of principals that decide decision-making. Ideally they should contain a definition of a problem. You should have a statement of the goals you are trying to achieve. You need to have a broader outline or the instrument of the resources you are going to use to get from point a to point b. You need sacrifice and investment: policy can take the form of action or inaction. All policies should come together and triangulate into a working system. They are all associated with one another simultaneously. It typically takes 2-5 years to make a policy. Definition of public policy: government chooses public policy. They are usually alternatives: public policy defines health, public policy is the action of the government.
