Health policy: power and politics, date: wednesday january 22, 2014. Throughout this reading we learn how over the years major health legislations have helped shape medicare such as the canada health act. Canada"s provinces and territories are responsible for providing canadians with coverage for medically necessary hospital and physician services as well as access to other public and private health goods and services. The material within this reading is consistent with my prior knowledge about the organization and governance of medicare as i have learned about it in my previous health studies classes at york. I was surprised to learn that ontario"s ministry of health has been among the most active governments in canada in using regulation as a tool in human resource policy and planning.
