Different people, different communities can have a different perspective for what happened. The same event might be interpreted by different people from where they stand. A woman who was abducted during partition will have a different perspective on it rather than one who was not abducted. Manto"s toba tek singh is a satire that makes fun of the politics of partition. The story has no direct word of criticism, it is all hidden under layers of what seems like a simple narrative about lunatics not understanding anything that"s happening around them. What used to be different cities at first, became different countries now. He sacrificed everything (from his land, his religion, his country) for her, only to find out that she"s married to her cousin and refuses to know boota singh.
