Conditions on native reserves or certain centres of the country suffering economic downturn; poverty is an ever present problem. Not something we can uniquely split up onto first world, third world etc. Some of the richest countries in the worlds have some of the biggest poverty problem; expansive notion of poverty is integrated into the global context. Defining poverty: poverty can be defined, in a very broad sense, as a general scarcity or the state of one who lacks a certain amount of material possessions and/or money. At a basic level poverty is about access to important resources; things that sustain life and quality of life. In addition, there are other aspects that are more nebulous; access to healthcare and education, the violence that may or may not exist in a particular community. Overall quality of life issue: according to the united nations, poverty describes the general condition characteristic of the inability of getting, receiving or attaining choices.
