Genesis 1 says g-d and genesis 2 says lord g-d. Genesis 1 says create earth and genesis 2 says made earth. Man is created again in genesis 2 (repeated stu from genesis 1). These two chapters belong to two di erent cultures that created same story. Genesis 1 belongs to priestly source- written when temple of jerusalem was destroyed. This source may have been written in the 6th century bce. Genesis 2 belongs to yahusit source, much older than genesis 1. These are called doublets- multiple parallel account of the same story. This understanding of the hebrew bible begun by picking up on the inconsistencies that you would nd in the text. In genesis 1 it says the man was created (he was male and female). Genesis 2 speci es that man was created rst and woman was created after man.
