There are many forms of social media commonly used in society today, including, but not limited to, facebook, twitter, instagram, snapchat, linkedin, pinterest, etc. Social media is used for a variety of purposes including communicating with family, friends, and colleagues, sharing ideas with the world, or even simply posting videos of cats that many people around the world will think is hilarious. Like many individuals in the younger generations, i myself also happen to use social media. Unlike many, i do not have an account on a multitude of social networking sites. However, i do have a facebook account, and so i will focus on that aspect of social media while critically examining my own use of social media. In addition, i also regularly send text messages as well. Facebook can be used for multiple purposes, including posting messages or pictures to friends" or to the public, sending messages to individuals, playing games, etc.
