Document Summary

Neumann conceptualized that a computer requires an input, a cpu, a main memory, a ram and an output (screen, etc. ) If cpu (central processing unit) is fast, main memory should be fast: single core cpu can only do one thing at a time, cpu is made up of alu and control unit and register areas. Today"s cpu can do millions or billions of instructions/second but one at a time still. When something is clicked on, the instructions are sent to the main memory which then sends it to cpu. Label: text in a cell: only thing that"s aligned to the left of the cell. In the brackets of the function is called argument. Range: 1 or more contiguous cells (contiguous: 1 after another without a break). Ex -> c3:c5: must be a rectangle, cannot be a weird shape, etc, beg. cell is in top left and end. cell is in bottom right, c3:c5 = relative range specification.
