- Injury to Genitalia
o Sexual differences- males external, females internal
o S/S
Nausea, shock, swelling, bleeding
o Risk goes up if pregnant
o Males- testicular torsion, amputation or avulsion
o Look for MOI
o Treatment
Self exam or by first responder
EMS or referral if nessesary
Amputation, torsion, and rupture are EMERGENT!
Psychological Emergencies
- Behavioral emergency
o Situation in which a person exhibits “abnormal” or
“unacceptable” behavior
o This may be subjective, and as a reaction to a physical
condition, trauma, or indicative of a psychological issue
- Physical conditions that can cause psychological issues
o Low blood sugar (diabetics)
o Lack of oxygen
o Head trauma
