Good Teams v. Great Teams
-descriptive terms: team spirit, momentum, winning attitude, team chemistry
- “a cooperative or coordinated effort on the part of a group of persons acting together
as a team or in the interests of a common cause”
-“work done by several associates with each doing a part but all subordinating
personal prominence to the efficiency of the whole.”
-a dedication to team work does not necessarily diminish individual effort and there is
more to teamwork than individual effort.
-team members (as opposed to teammates) includes coaches, and other professionals
as well, even parents.
-not all teams have the same quality of unity or “teamness” (think basketball vs. golf
-individual team sports (aka coacting teams) - teams whom the cumulative
