Purpose: to deal with other injuries & illnesses or complicating factors after the abc emergencies are treated. Vital signs assessment (loc level of conscious, breathing, pulse, skin, pupils) Head-to-toe assessment (medical alerts, distal circulation, distal sensation, survey body) Medication: do you have any medications you"re currently taking? (example: high blood pressure medicine, etc. ) Then we want to see how well your brain is running. You must tell them everything you are doing so the victim is not scared of worried. It is also good for the crowd so that they know you know what you are doing. *march 22nd, you will have a secondary assessment quiz. Sign & symptoms: point of the body will hard, they get sleepy, have no injury. You will start to see it come out. Ems: open them up, stitch them up after. Mechanism of injury: bumps or hits on the head, skull fracture, any movement of the brain within the skull.
