4 signi cant points in human history: language, writing, the printing press, computers. Each of these is characterized by an explosion of information being made available. Language: this is what makes us di erent from animals, the fact that we can communicate, it allows us to convey information from one person to another. The printing press: informations is distributed to the masses, everyone gets access to knowledge, its not just restricted to the elite anymore, this made the elite terri ed, because knowledge is power, and now everyone has that power. Computers: the internet gives access to information, at any time, the ability to search and analyze information. The doctor might tell them to lose weight, exercise, and stop smoking. This might stop them from having a stroke, but they might still have one: explanation: we can"t really explain what causes strokes. Is it stress, or fat, or genetics, or what is it.
