Marx is a theorist of capitalism and within that he sees alienation. Fou(cid:272)ault is a theorist of (cid:373)oder(cid:374)ity: he says it"s (cid:374)ot (cid:272)apitalis(cid:373) that"s the pro(cid:271)le(cid:373) (cid:271)ut the idea that they were trying to produce sameness. Mechanization of life and routine and so on and so forth. There is a series of institution that modernity is known for. Some of these institutions include hospitals, prison, mental asylums. Madness during the renaissance was seen as okay, part every individuals personality. Madness was seen as something that was connected to god. Confinement leads to a firm line between normal and insane. Fou(cid:272)ault also says that"s the (cid:271)egi(cid:374)(cid:374)i(cid:374)g of this idea of guilt a(cid:374)d it"s (cid:448)ery po(cid:449)erful. The idea of guilt according to foucault is connected to the idea of normal human and of course madness is outside of that. The normal human is always afariad of being abnormal. They are tod on how to be and how to treat the mad.
