1- usually native people are treated separately from problem related to immigration but their issues are related to those new comers and immigrants. Overlap in terminologies (cultural competency, safety, cultural sensitivity) Culture competency: defined as having particular skill set (help to engage with particular ethnic community) that add to the general skills of health care provider. Desire for the other in term of wanting something that has been destroyed. Also, forgetting that someone is part of the destruction of something in the first place. In summary: there are 3 components of this concept: Denying that is someone is part of the destruction moron the loss or to forget one involvement in the destruction. This step is tricky because we might not be able to identify the destruction of certain thing (loss of language or heritage). Hooks are not speaking about direct involvement but rather about the forgetting of the history of the destruction.
