Document Summary
Agenda: learn about stress, and identify the causes and effects, learn different methods of coping with stress, learn how to manage time better. The dictionary definition of stress is a condition where an environment demand exceeds the natural regulatory capacity of an organism. Put in simpler terms, stress is what you experience when you can"t cope effectively with a threatening situation: stress can be caused by a thing, circumstance, or physical and emotional discomfort. Stress mythbusters: myth #1: all stress is bad. Many researchers point to something called eustress, which they define as positive stressors that stimulate and motivate you. For example, the stress of not having a job can trigger you to get out and find a job before you declare bankruptcy and stave. Other researcher"s aren"t sure that stress is ever good, since most leading causes of death derive from stress. Furthermore, stress contributes to 75% to 90% of all medical conditions, depending on whom you ask.
