The hyperion hotel is a 34 story hotel located in los angles, california open in 1970. The management of the hotel decided to go under 18 months long renovation process. During that period on july 3rd, a section of newly installed walkway which connects hotel tower and conference facility collapsed around 2am in the morning. There was no physical injuring to anyone but it was a huge loss for all the three parties involved; hyperion hotel, construction and engineering companies. As the incident resulted in shooting up both project"s timeline and renovation budget for the hotel and it degraded reputation for both companies. When all the facts about the incident were put together and examined, few contributing factors which might have cause the incident were observed. To begin with there was a communication gap between two heads of the project, supervising engineer and project lead. Donavan, company is a small company which lacks in experience with dealing with big projects.
