Not vague, if it was it would be general, there"s a ton of features, precision in defining it special class of people , between ages of 7-17 , qualitatively different from adults not fuzzy, there"s a lot of examples and details. One feature confirms the other social artifact not biological category , confirm each other: are they used in a sense that is too narrow or too wide? childhood. Everything has to do with the social construction of childhood. Problem as there must be some kind of developmental stages that have been ignored. No importance given for stages, there must certainly be some sort of biology included possibly. Its being denied polemical (all one side) its easier to criticize thing this way, leaves no room for criticism against his ideas. Defined by school attendance doesn"t make the concept too broad, but it could differ by cultures would need to possibly specify that this is within a north american context.
