Extinction doesn"t stop the development of natural life, it continues because there are still some animals that survive. Comets contains amino-acids meaning that comets that hit the earth brought water. Therefore first life does not originate from the earth but outside and from comets; they are developed on the earth. Every layer going into ground is called strata. The lower layer tends to be the older strata (base layer) Principle of original lateral extensia continues unless something is blocking its way. Principle of cross cutting relationships: usually the layer that intersect the older layer is much younger. Principle of inclusion the fragments found in the layers is older than the layer itself: could be because of natural causes, fragments of rocks are moved to different layers. The crest and of dirt is younger and the trough is older.
