Like earth, the moon is differentiated, but the details of the structure are quite different. Moon has a core, mantle and crust, but they are different in composition and size from. The moon"s surface is also not active as earth"s is. The moon is about 3500 km in diameter, compared to earth, at about 12,500 km in diameter. So it is considerably smaller and also has a lower average density.
