Document Summary

Saturn has a very large number of moons and new ones are always being discovered. Here we look at titan, the only moon in the solar system to have a thick atmosphere (thicker than earth). Titan is very close is size to ganymede which also makes it a bit bigger than mercury. Titan is the largest of saturn"s moons. It is the second largest moon in the solar system (only ganymede is larger) and is larger than mercury. Cloud covered, so hard to see through. Like the moons of jupi, title has a significant component of water ice. Because it is also further from the sun, it has many other organic compounds. Because saturn is quite far from the sun it is much colder as it receives far less sunlight. For this reason molecules have less energy and move slower, so tital can hold onto a significant atmosphere. 0 degrees celsius is 230 degrees kelvin.
