Up and until world war 2 there was no such thing as a computer. From people as machines to computers as machines. Clerks activities are now done by modern day electronic computers and work with as a combination. Can live without computers because of the software and applications not particularly the hardware. Technology looks the same hardware wise but using them for di erent reasons with application software. Understanding the focus of the course, looking into combing the computing and information technologies. B/c you could go back and use smoke singles as an information technologies separating modern day technologies separating the past with the use of the word digital. Icts manipulate information, electronically with 0s and 1s. Part of the same family tree so you can transfer info from one technology to another. Convergent = blending icts as well as old and new technologies.
