Document Summary
If it contains less than 500 ppm dissolved salts. Ocean water, saline = most of global water. Most fresh water comes from ice + 30% from groundwater. Only a small amount is surface water. Snow and permafrost lakes other sources such as rivers, swamps, biological water etc. Rivers, lakes, etc. play a big role in creating sedimentary rock. Body of moving water (no specific size) The ground isn"t perfectly levelled so it finds the holes. Gravity pushes water to the lowest part. Next step is erosion flow evens further because channels eroded. You get tributaries to form and feeds into the trunk of the stream. If it reaches a certain amount it will flow out of the puddle and into a stream. Rain will hit the ground or into the stream leads to the main trunk stream. Rain, melting ice, snow and springs that will add to stream flow. Anywhere there is a slope, it will go down slope.
