Knowledge flows from scientists to "not-scientists" never the other way around. People are characterized by a lack of knowledge. Makes the world very binary( only 2 types of people: binary view - deficit model of science ( empty brains needing knowledge) Means laypeople should not speak out on knowledgeable science cuz they are the qualified. But science is a large branch of areas meaning not qualified in everything that needs opinions i. e genetic scientists saying ideas on climate change. Intelligence and science go hand and hand- if you"re a scientist you"re smart , if you"re a layperson you"re stupid. Very easy to dismiss people and people want to dismiss people not include them. Pus makes it easier to dismiss some people as stupid.
