Local extinction species is no longer found in particular area of its former range, bus is still found elsewhere in the world. Ecological extinction so few members of a species are left, that the species no longer plays its ecological role in the biological communities where it is found. Even if we try to clone them they wouldn"t be pure because we would use different species as a filler to make up for degraded dna. Biological extinction species is no longer found anywhere on earth. And how often: feds at high trophic levels (for example tiger, bald eagle, generally those who have no enemies except for humans, like tiger and bald eagle, prey on the prey items, have relatively few predators vs prey. Tiny fish, fully grown is only about an inch long. Has the distinction of being the vertebrate species with the smallest natural range.
