Document Summary

Reflective summaries: final day to submit rs is feb 11th. Justice is about giving people what they deserve (what an ancient philosopher would think) Traditional: determined by laws and customs: concept of pleonexia. Graspingness, a pleonexic person always wants more. Sometimes paying back debts seems to be wrong. Could have redefined the idea of paying back debts. Monday, april 11, y traditional values, cant be challenged. It is rather a definition in which what will happen if people act justly. Following the established rule of the city in order to bring about the advantage of the stronger. Living justly is stupid: justice in society. Clever rulers make laws that benefit themselves. Laws that will benefit, the more power and wealth that you have, the more of a threat you are. When citizens follow laws (justice) they benefit rulers at own expense, by following laws, you benefit the stronger, you give up what benefits you: thrasymachus and democracy.
