Chapter 2: evaluating ontological theses (ontology = metaphysics) Ontologist answer the left over questions of science. There are three qualities that we want an otological theses to have: internally consistent. This comes from logic. i. e telling a lie, everything needs to be consistent or the story won"t add up: consistent with other sources of knowledge (sciences, everyday experiences/ common sense) Checking that your theses is consistent with other sources of knowledge can get messy because not all sciences agree with each other. Our own personal experiences may get in the way also: relative explanatory power.
