The rectangle tennis court that we know today was introduced for the first wimbledon championship in 1877, when the current dimensions of 23. 77 by 8. 23m (78 y 27ft. ) for the single court were agreed. For example the baselines and sideline, limit the depth and width of your drives and volleys while the service lines restrict the depth of your services. The net indicates your strokeplay and the type of shot you play. It provides you with a problem for each shot and you have to find the best solution. Court surfaces vary throughout the world, reflecting the material available and climate. basically there are 4 types of surfaces: Grass, the original surface is a fast-playing surface, easy on the feet but it is difficult and expensive to maintain.
