Cross-theory concern about the environment and its role in shaping/being. In intl politics and ir we have been green, but w/e constructing what gets people out of poverty. We"re waiting so long to save this earth shit bruh, we"re waiting too long lmao. Dark green: fuck capitalism, change the econ system to preserve the environment. In ir we focus on how the environment connects with security. How to grow things if nothing"s left to grow (interstellar) How to reduce the negative impacts of human activity, in a way to save the next generation. Bookchin: to re-define a non-capitalist world along ecological, direct democracy lines. Eckersley: the limits in theory in imagining a green democratic and prosperous state. Many world issues are caused by humanity"s relationship to the environment (i. e. security, refugee, poverty,) Liberal ideals on which ir theories are based are dangerous to the extent that they do not consider the long-term effect of resource exploitation and depletion.
