Much of the conflict comes from the failure of the british to resolve the conflict between jewish immigration and the preservation of palestinian arab rights during 1917-1948. Others believe that it was the triumph of the zionist immigrants overcoming arab resistance, british opposition and european anti- Semitism to form what we know as israel today. There was a lot of anti-semitism in all of europe until western europe emancipated the jews and started assimilating them. It was looked upon as the process of destroying anti-semitism.
