Distinction is important because it highlights the relationship between them. *corhesive apparatus of the state: police, state police, army, those who control the means of force, often on the side of the regime ideologically and in terms of interest, they do it for benefits. *regime s passive supporters: civil society, give the regime a chance, supports the regime, gives no opposition, tend to watch what takes place, vote sometimes, look the other way, support is passive, weakest element of the regime. *opposition: active opponents, they oppose the regime no matter what, radical opponents of the regime, no compromise with the regime. *passive opposition of the regime: they ask themselves if the regime has been good to them, they realize that the regime is the problem. The opposition has to muzzle the radicals. First step for the opposition is to transform itself.
