Rational aspect of property is to be found not in the satisfaction of needs but in the superseding of mere subjectivity of personality. Not until a person has property does the person exist as reason. Human as a free spirit while a thing can be property that is something un-free. Following this hegel goes on to claiming that it is an absolute right of appropriation of things. The thing has no end in its self and is not infinite self-reference but something external to itself. To have even external power over something constitutes possession just as the particular circumstance that i make something my own out of natural need drive arbitrary will is the particular interest of possession. The more precise determination of property are found in the will"s relationship to the thing. This is done by three means physical seizure, will alone (socially saying this is my property), and the use of a thing (forming it).
