James-lange theory: the theory that our experience of emotion is our awareness of our physiological responses to emotion-arousing stimuli. Common sense says; we cry because we are sad, lash out because we are angry, Cannon-bard theory: the theory that an emotion-arousing stimulus simultaneously the james-lange theory tremble because we are afraid: first comes conscious awareness, then the feeling.
