We have a survival or a drive to live but at the same time a drive for aggression and destruction that we need to manage. We are motivated to pass on our genes. He actually developed a formula to conceptualize this theory - however it is not intended to be mathematical. Where e is the chance of a given response occurring. And h - habit strength - how familiar or practiced a certain behavior is. This theory implies all of our behavior is geared towards satisfying biological needs and deficiencies.
