A sample: if you were sick, or undergoing stress, the score you would get would not be representative of your true behavior. A sample of your behavior at that particular time. Not how much you know, rather your intellectual potential. What are you capable of achieving based on your iq score. Also measures your potential, but they assess specific types of mental abilities. Designed to be able to predict your ability to acquire a new skill. What is your potential for becoming a good architect, for instance. Usually takes less time to study for something you are more interested in. Creativity: an element of originality; to be able to realize new information no one has discovered. Sport: does it require a certain intelligence to be a good athlete. Solve problems and use knowledge to adapt to new situations.
