Social psychology- main purpose in groups (how we act when were with other people. Two main areas: social cognition: the study of the way we perceive and evaluate others. Making attributions: social influence: the study of how we influence each others behaviors, judgments, attitudes and beliefs. Compliance: agreeing to someone"s direct requests or command. Obedience: person making the request is an authority figure. Conformity: adjusting your behavior or thinking to coincide with a group standard. Remote condition is the teacher and learner is separated in different rooms (65%) Voice feedback is the teacher can hear the learner please i can"t take it anymore (62%) Proximity is when the teacher and learner are sitting right next to each other (40%) Touch is when the teacher took the learners arm and put onto what they thought was an electrified grid (30%) No contact whatsoever between the two (100%) We have a natural tendency to obey other peoples command.
