A control group in which subjects are nor receiving the treatment but they eventually will when the study is over. In real life situation what happens is where you have instead a new treatment compared to an old treatment set up. Alternatively, a pre post study can be done instead. Typically, in a study like alcohol on memory. It makes the overall treatment of the experimental and control groups as similar as possible on factors other than the independent variables. Controlling overall the number of treatment by matching with the control group. Levels of independent variables means something different from the condition. Factor means independent variable, factorial however means than there is more than one or two or more independent variables. Typically, there are 2 or more independent variables. A factorial is described with a numbering system that simultaneously identifies the number of independent variables as well as the number of levels of each variable.
