Individual displays fear or anxiety concerning separation from attachment figures, anxiety that is unreasonable or excessive for her or her age group. Individual"s symptoms last 4 or more weeks for children and at least 6 for adults. This occurs in 4-10% of all children. Extreme anxiety, often panic, whenever they are separated from home or a parent. Around 2% of children and 9% of adolescence currently experience major depressive disorder; as many as 10% of adolescence experience at least one depressive episode. To help rectify this problem, dsm-5 now includes a new category, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (dmdd) Individual repeatedly displays irritable or angry mood between the outbursts. Individual received initial diagnosis between 6-18 years of age. Oppositional defiant disorder: children with this disorder are repeatedly argumentative and defiant, angry and irritable, and in some cases, violent. Characterized by repeated arguments with adults, loss of temper, anger, resentment.
