Document Summary

Systematic observation for descriptive purposes, to understand and predict. One of the most simple ways of doing research (trying to understand phenomenon in the real world) Going to the movies and watch the people leaving the theatre and scary movies and comedies/ action movies, and observe whether there seems to be more closeness. Making observations about lots of people - simplistic counting, number of people who appear to be couples/ touching, number of people leaving smiling or not. Making observations about a lot of people, i can observe a few things, or observe 1/2 people and get to know them very well. Getting to know a small group well and seeing what they are like. Allows you to get up close and personal - even by you pretending. How to measure? to be one of them. You want to make sure they are behaving realistically. They are reacting to the fact that they are being watched.
