50 views3 pages

Document Summary

Small sample studies, intro to surveys and ethics. P values - belongs to null hypothesis - True definition - assuming is the null hypothesis is true, this number is the probability of the number like this or more. Statistical significance doesn"t meaning it is meaningful. False positive - type 1 error - we are saying something is there, but there is nothing. If someone gets upset, it is your responsibility to make sure they walk out the same way they came in. Every researcher has an ethical/moral obligation to remain highly trained, and to keep their training up to date because things can change. If training is not up to date, they will be doing things in less fashioned away, and the conclusions will not be as clear and will not be as much of a benefit. Responsibility to society - discovery is going to pay back and benefit society as a whole.
