Four ways to look at personality: self, informant, behavior and life outcomes. Self reports: questionnaire that asks questions about themselves. It has high face validity because it measures what it exactly is intended to measure: advantages: unique perspective of who you are, effective in cost, simple and easy. It is too simple and too easy: lead to overuse: most frequently used report. Causal force: people become what others expect them to be. You behave in that way as a result. If you want to know how aggressive you are we can look at arrest reports/police reports etc. instead of just asking you (intrinsic importance). It provides unique information about self: disadvantage: multidetermination. Ask a ut psychologist video on youtube (personality). The way words are used by either men or women don"t necessarily differ. Women use more pronouns and use more social words in general.
