Top-down ( theory- driven or conceptually driven ) processing, the perceiver"s expectations, theories or concepts guide the selection and combination of the information in the pattern- recognition process. How does it related to models of perception covered in the last class: late-selection theory because it"s a system that determines which of the incoming information is important.
