One of the ideas that were floating in philosophy was the idea that consciousness was not private. Perry made the argument that we think consciousness as private thing. There are only three emotions that we are born with which are fear, rage, and love. For example love is expression of pleasure, smiling. And love is only stimulated in different zones such as chest on a baby. In terms of fear response, all other emotions need to be built up to stimulate fear.
