Two main axes for classifying personalities: dominance - submissive / unfriendly-friendly. Mcmi research study of depression (goldberg and colleges 1989) Sample of out-patients receiving cbt for major affective disorder. Identify 2 groups using cluster analysis (both had depression) Diagnostic criteria for each disorder have not changed. Personality traits and functioning proposed in dsm-5 section lll. B = dramatic erratic - borderline, histrionic, narcissistic, antisocial.
