Having a jury is important b/c you need a jury of citizens who will stand between the people and the state, they are representing the community. They reflect the community sentiment getting the voice of the community against the crime that has been committed. 12 heads are better than one through recalling info, life experiences, and canceling out individual biases civic engagement and participation in the legal system. Problems with juries its expensive juries might get it wrong wrong in the law, they put in their own decisions that don"t really line up with laws put in place. Decisions may be influenced from extra-legal factors things that are not actually relevant to the case. Psychological trauma that one of the members had, this may lead to anger and not deciding the lawful thing. First 10 days they don"t get paid anything.
