Alibi never corroborated (was at canadian tire fixing his car) Eyewitnesses are not necessary lying, their memory might be confused. Loftus (1974) examined 347 cases in which only evidence was eyewitness testimony. In 74 % of these cases, the defendant was convicted. Jury don"t correct, they believe the witness (like they tend to believe confessions) People thing of human memory as a camera. Three component processes: encoding: gathering info and putting it in a form that can be held in memory, storage: holding the encoded info over time, retrieval: accessing and pulling out stored info.
