4 diff stages to this model - know this for test 1. Minimal signal - when that person has their signal that they are possibly being ostracized. Reflective stage - more emotional - you detect it - negative affect (being angry or sad or anxious) Reflective stage - more cognitive - when a person attributes traits to the group. Need fortification -when someone gets resources to support themselves - a friend, a counselor, an app or even building their own resilience. Resignation stage - when that person is depelated of their emotional and cognitive resources - they have an inability to fortify their needs. Individualism - individual is primary, his or her right must be put in the front, their rights must be met. Personal identity - perception of self concept - includes unique qualities, traits, beliefs, skills/ abilities. Social identity - perception of self concept that is derived from relationships with people, groups, society.
